Curious to hear what our students have to say, we caught up with recent graduate, Antoanela, to ask about her experience studying at Ulster University. Read on to know more.
Hi, I am Antoanela Androne and I studied Bsc Accounting and Management from Ulster University’s London campus.
My journey with QA Higher Education began through a recruitment agent. I always knew I wanted to study accountancy but had no idea where to begin picking a university. A recruitment agent suggested the accountancy programme with Ulster and on researching the programmer myself, I was pleased that it ticked all my boxes. There was the option of studying in London, which would be beneficial for my job search on graduating and the programme facilitated further studies with the ACCA to become a fully qualified chartered accountant. This was important to me!
As a student, I always found good support from the teachers during my time at Ulster University. The course was well delivered, and the content was very well thought out and relevant to my current accounting job which is what you want from any education. One of my observations was, despite it being higher education, the lecturers were very supportive and encouraging. They would put in the extra time and effort to ensure we’ve understood the subject matter. They were always available to help us and give us tips on how to approach a task. It was also interesting to see how much time they were willing to invest in us individually and to adopt different approaches to ensure we had a full grasp on what was taught.
As a working professional, I can say without a doubt, what I learned as a student at Ulster University has come in handy. It’s not just the textbook theories. Our teachers went out of their way to mould our thinking equipping us to deal with unconventional issues that may come our way.
It’s refreshing, encouraging, and motivating to see an educational institute so invested in my growth and success.
