If you are graduating soon, we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you and we hope that your graduation from Ulster University will be a truly memorable occasion. We are thrilled to extend an invitation to a Graduation Celebration event for you and your guests to honour your achievements. Following your ceremony, you’ll have the chance to get together with your fellow graduates, faculty, friends and your loved ones to celebrate your success.
Eligible students will be invited to apply to the graduation via the personal e-mail 6-9 months after the awarded board. The email has the application of interest for the campus location of where you completed your studies. You have three weeks to complete the application and a further two weeks to confirm a place in graduation by purchasing the hired gown and purchasing guest tickets.
You can purchase a maximum of 2 guest tickets from Ede and Ravenscroft when you receive your confirmation email from us including your date and time of your ceremony, after the registration deadline. These will be sent to you as an e-ticket 7 days before the ceremony from Ede and Ravenscroft.
Please be aware these are first come first serve. Please have all your tickets and student number to hand when you enter the venue on the day to show at the door.
A graduation ceremony is a formal occasion, and an appropriate standard of dressing is expected.
Everyone graduating is required to wear the correct academic dress for Ulster university. Our supplier Ede and Ravencroft have been supplying formal wear for graduation ceremonies for many years. The cost of hiring the academic dress for your ceremony start from £46 -£52.
The two options for gown hire are either for the ceremony only or up to one week. You will be able to pay for the hire of your gown when you receive your confirmation email from us with your ceremony place and time.
Students graduating in London will attend their graduation ceremony at the Law Society London, and students graduating in Birmingham will attend their graduation ceremony at the Birmingham Town Hall. A variety of photography packages can be pre-booked for the day of your ceremony with Ede and Ravenscroft. Once you receive your confirmation email you will be allowed to book photography packages on the Ede and Ravenscroft website.
Please note that photographs and/or video footage will be taken throughout this event and by confirming your attendance you are confirming your consent. This footage may be used by the university for marketing and publicity, including but not limited to publications, campaigns, social media, and our website. If you have any questions or would like to be exempt from these photographs, please get in touch with us before the event via Graduation@qa.com.
Lifts are available at the venue, but we encourage students to let us know in advance if they or their guests require assistance to enable us to make adequate arrangements.
Gowns are collected at the venue on the day of your ceremony. Remember to bring yours student ID number and tickets with you for the gown collection.
Students who attend the graduation ceremony will receive their degree Certificate and Transcript on the day of the graduation ceremony. Students who have stated they are unable to attend their graduation ceremony will receive an email from student advice and support centre (SASC) for collection of their Certificate and Transcript. Please visit the Student Portal to ensure the legal name and home address provided on your student record are up to date.
If you have received your certificate already beforehand you will receive a blank transcript on the day.
The ceremony will be followed by a reception where students and guests will enjoy drinks and snacks to refresh themselves. We are also delighted that the Senior members of staff of the University of Ulster and QA Higher Education will be in attendance to celebrate with the students.

You can request for a completion letter which is free of charge from the Ulster University main campus here.
You will need to select that you attended in London, Birmingham or Manchester. This request is processed by the main Ulster university campus and not QA Higher Education. Please keep your receipt as this will have the contact details should have any questions.
Students who have confirmed their attendance will receive their e-tickets via e-mail 7 days before the ceremony.
You will get a free student ticket when you hire your gown and can purchase a maximum of 2 guest tickets.
Personalised guest invites/letters are not provided by the university. Your guests will be able to use the invite email as well as your Completion Letter to apply for a Standard Visitor Visa. You can request for a Completion Letter here.

You cannot change your ceremony date or time once confirmed.
Yes, you can defer your graduation once. You will need to complete the deferal section on the application of interest form once your are eligible to graduate. This will be sent from graduation@qa.com.
Yes, you will need to complete the non-graduation section on the graduation application of interest form you receive from graduation@qa.com 6-9 months after you are awarded.
Children under the age of ten will not be permitted to join the ceremony. Children over ten will be permitted but will need their own ticket and must be accompanied by an adult who will also need their own guest ticket.
When you have confirmed your attendance you will receive a confirmation e-mail from us on how to book your academic dress and photography service from Ede and Ravenscroft.
You are requested to remain inside once you have your gown on to ensure no damage to the garment. Photographs must be taken inside the venue until after the ceremony when you have returned your cap and gown.
If you have accessibility needs, please fill out the accessibility section in the graduation application of interest form. If your guest has accessibility needs, please let us know at graduation@qa.com once you have received your confirmation email and purchased your guest tickets.
A reception takes place after the ceremony where graduates and guest can enjoy snacks and refreshments suitable for all. Those with severe allergies please contact graduation@qa.com.
Your guests can bring gifts or flowers for the graduate after the ceremony. No outside food is permitted at either venue.
Yes, there is a cloakroom on site at both venues, please ask our staff when you get to the venue where this is located.
You will have to pay for a re-print from Ulster University if you lose your certificate. Please contact graduation@qa.com.
