English and Maths requirements

All students applying for an Undergraduate, Pre-Masters or Postgraduate degree or the Graduate Certificate at Ulster University Branch Campuses are required to meet our standard English Language Requirements.

Students must also provide evidence that they satisfy the requirements for Maths (i.e. equivalent to a Grade C in GCSE). For students presenting qualifications from Thailand, they must have at least a grade of 60% in Maths as part of the MAW 6 (Higher Secondary School Certificate – Mathayom Suksa, M6) (70% in Maths for BSc Hons Accounting and Management).

Course Entry Requirements
Undergraduate Programmes A MAQ 6 (Higher Secondary School Certificate – Mathayom Suska, M6) with 50% or above AND successful pass in one of the following:

A recognised UK Foundation/ Access Course

Or

The first year of a Bachelor’s degree at a recognised university with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 or above OR 2.3 or above if studied at one of the following prestigious institutions:

Assumption (ABAC); Mahidol (MUIC); Sirindhorn (SIIT); iBBA; Chulalongkorn; Thammasat; Prince of Songkhla; Chiang Mai; Silpakorn; Kasetsart

Or

Associate Degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.7 OR above if studied at one of the following prestigious institutions:

Assumption (ABAC); Mahidol (MUIC); Sirindhorn (SIIT); iBBA; Chulalongkorn; Thammasat; Prince of Songkhla; Chiang Mai; Silpakorn; Kasetsart

Or

Diploma in Vocational Education Education/ Higher Certificate

For advanced entry to an Undergraduate Degree Programme:

Applicants have completed 2 years of their Bachelor’s Degree (with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 OR above OR 2.3 or above if studied at one of the following prestigious institutions: Assumption (ABAC); Mahidol (MUIC); Sirindhorn (SIIT); iBBA; Chulalongkorn; Thammasat; Prince of Songkhla; Chiang Mai; Silpakorn; Kasetsart. In a relevant subject they may be considered (at the School’s discretion) for direct entry to the second year.

Or
Applicants holding the Higher Diploma of Technical Education/ Higher Diploma of Vocational Education, from a recognised institution, in the relevant subject they may be considered for advanced entry to Year 2.

Grading System: 80‐100%/4/Excellent; 70‐79%/3/Good; 60‐69%/2/Fair; 50‐59%/1/Pass; 0‐
49%/0/Fail

Postgraduate Programmes A 4 year Bachelor’s Degree, in a relevant subject area, with an overall GPA of 2.5 or above OR 2.3 or above if studied at one of the following prestigious institutions:

Assumption (ABAC); Mahidol (MUIC); Sirindhorn (SIIT); iBBA; Chulalongkorn; Thammasat; Prince of Songkhla; Chiang Mai; Silpakorn; Kasetsart

A student holding a lower award may be considered for the Graduate Certificate in Business.

Instalment plans are available to applicants to help pay the balance of their fees, these are agreed on a cases by case basis, defined by your qualifications and ability to pay your tuition fees.

The following items of documentation are required to apply to Ulster University Branch Campuses:

  • Copy of your passport (expiration date 6 months from start of chosen course)
  • A personal statement. A minimum of 250 words detailing why you have selected your particular course, why you have chosen to study within the UK and your future career aspirations.
  • Academic certificates and transcripts
  • CV
  • Any previous UK Visas (if you have studied or worked in the UK before)
  • A completed Application Form
