Students studying with QA Higher Education have access to both the QA Higher Education libraries and the university partner library.
Depending on the programme you study, some or most of your learning and research resources are provided to you via your university or the QA Higher Education.
Librarians will support you in getting the most out of those resources.
For details of library services for various programmes please see the Library Portal.
Our libraries are here to help you find the resources you need in order to succeed in your studies. You will be met by friendly staff who will be more than happy to assist you in sourcing information and making sure you can work in a quiet environment.
My Campus
My Campus is your hub for all the useful information you need while you are studying with us. Here you will find help-sheets, links to important resources and contact information for key departments within the university.
My CampusFind resources
If you are working on important assignments or reports then finding the right information is crucial to you achieving the grade you want. You’ll find some useful links below that you can use throughout your studies at Ulster University Branch Campuses.
- books in this library
- ebooks from Ulster University
- e-journal articles (via the Portal, search databases or use the USearch)
Printing and photocopying
The library has a combined device for printing, photocopying and scanning facilities. There are other printing devices located elsewhere in the building. Library staff are happy to help you use these devices; alternatively, there is a separate guide on how to use machines.
Borrowing books
We have an online library catalogue for the campus libraries. The catalogue will tell you whether the book is available and where it is shelved – if you are unsure just ask staff.
You can also use the catalogue to manage your library account. This includes:
- checking which books you currently have on loan
- checking your overdue charges
- requesting titles which are currently on loan to other students (reservations)
- extending (renewing) your loans
If all copies of a book are already out on loan, you can reserve a copy. This means we will email you as soon as a copy is available. You will need to collect it quickly, so please check your email regularly if you are waiting for a book.
In order to encourage students to return books on time, overdue charges are applied to those which are returned late:
- three week loans – 50p per day
- four hour loans – 50p per hour
If any books are still not returned a month after the due date, we will issue an invoice for the replacement cost of the item.
In order to avoid overdue charges, please return your books on time, or contact us to request a renewal.
