Are you looking for a course that will open doors to global opportunities?

Do you want to turn your passion for hospitality & tourism into a successful career?

This MSc International Tourism and Hospitality Management programme will introduce you to the key principles and concepts of management in the tourism and hospitality sectors and help you to develop the knowledge, skills and industry awareness needed for a successful career in the field.

You will explore how tourism and hospitality sectors operate, discover the importance of responsible hospitality and tourism development on society, and develop a strong understanding of current trends and issues in tourism and hospitality sectors at local, national and international levels. You will then apply this knowledge to develop future strategies which organisations can adopt to address emerging challenges and opportunities in the future.

Through the use of case studies and practical projects, you will explore a variety of different topics on this programme such as:

  • Tourism development
  • Business performance and metrics
  • Consumer behaviour & visitor experience
  • Leadership and people management
  • Sustainability
  • Marketing and strategic management
  • Data collection and analysis
  • Operational value

On this programme you will also have the opportunity to work on real-world business challenges, learn how to apply theories to practical situations and develop professional skills highly valued by employers.

Advanced Practice

If you choose to complete the Advanced Practice element of this programme, it takes place after you have studied the taught modules at the Masters stage. This will enable you to undertake a 12 week long internship, or applied consulting project, working with a real organisation on a live organisational/management issue.

This gives you the opportunity to gain experience of the workplace environment and/or practical experience of the “real world” issues faced by those currently engaged in tourism and hospitality management. The Advance Practice stage module provides an excellent way to put your learning into practice and hence, enhance your employability. It also provides you with an enhanced knowledge of tourism and hospitality in the workplace, to assist you as you progress to your Dissertation.

Please note if you undertake an internship this maybe paid or unpaid.
